Outcomes and Results
Deoxycholic acid is an acid that is already naturally present in our bodies. Deoxycholic acid wipes out fat cells in our body. Kybella is a manufactured form of this natural acid. Kybella includes the manufactured form of deoxycholic acid along with non-medicinal ingredients for injection. When Kybella is injected in the chin, the manufactured deoxycholic acid works the same way it works in your body, collecting and destroying fat cells specific to the chin area.
Through a series of injections, Kybella will be applied to your chin area. Dr. Craft will work with you to create an injection schedule. After each injection procedure, you will notice your double chin getting smaller and smaller. Once the desired size is achieved through the injections and you adhere to healthy eating choices and a healthy lifestyle the change is permanent. Kybella injections are each to tolerate and there is minimal swelling and bruising following the procedures.
Kybella is a non-invasive non-surgical procedure that is generally completed in 15 – 20 minutes. It is necessary to follow a Kybella injection schedule. The fat is not removed immediately after one injection with Kybella. Instead, you will have numerous small injections dependent on the targeted areas, the amount of fat and other factors. The injections are usually completed about a month apart up to a maximum of six injection procedures. Dr. Craft will work with you to develop a schedule.

Kybella can cause rare side effects including nerve damage in the jaw or trouble swallowing. The most common side effects include minor swelling, bruising or hardness to the treated area. Common side effects are generally more apparent and noticeable after the first few injections and become more tolerable after subsequent injections.

Answer: As Kybella is non-invasive, there are generally mild side effects following injections such as swelling, tenderness and bruising.
