Hair Transplant Miami – Permanently Reverse Hair Loss

Learn More About Hair Transplant Procedure

Permanently restore natural hairline with a quick, minimally-invasive procedure.

Miami is a type of plastic surgery that moves hair from the donor site on your body into an area of thinning or no hair. While various types of hair transplant procedures have been around in the U.S. since the 1950s, the techniques have changed dramatically in recent years.

At Body by Craft, we use the novel FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction, hair transplant procedure that can be done within a single day with only local anesthetic. The procedure is associated with a relatively quick recovery and delivers permanent, reliable results.

Hair Transplant in Miami

Up to 80% of men will experience hair loss at some point in their lives – due to aging, genetics, or specific health conditions. While in many cases hair loss can’t be prevented, it can be successfully reversed with a Miami hair transplant skillfully performed by Dr. Craft. As a result, you will be able to enjoy luscious hair, improved appearance, and restored confidence.

At Body By Craft, we use an innovative Smartgraft machine that allows us to perform Follicular Unit Extraction hair transplants – an undoubtedly superb treatment as compared to some older procedures. During the procedure, individual hair follicles will be extracted from the back of your scalp, leaving a scattered array of pinpoint scars that are virtually undetectable. Then, each graft will be placed into areas of thinning hair, leading to a thicker, natural-looking hairline.

Outcomes & Results

Men’s hair transplant in Miami leads to a permanent restoration of thick, natural hair. During the surgery, functioning hair follicles are harvested from the donor site. Once transplanted to the target area, these hair follicles begin to receive nourishment from blood vessels and, therefore, continue to grow hair according to its natural growth cycle.

When the procedure is performed by a skilled plastic surgeon like Dr. Craft, you can expect a very high rate of success. While you may notice some of the transplanted hair follicles falling out a few weeks after the treatment, remember that this is just a part of the hair’s normal lifecycle.

Candidates

The Miami hair transplant procedure is suitable for a broad range of candidates but is most commonly performed for younger men that still have sufficient natural hair on their potential donor site. While realistic expectations and good physical health can help to make the recovery process easier, virtually anyone who would like to combat hair loss will benefit from the surgery.

At Body By Craft, we often perform the FUE procedure to reduce the appearance of the scar left from previously-done hair transplant surgery. In addition, some of the patients we choose FUE transplants for beard and eyebrow restoration.

Procedures & Techniques

There are two main types of hair transplant procedures in Miami: FUT and FUS.

  • FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) involves surgically removing a thin strip of skin with hair from the back of the patient’s scalp. This strip is then divided into tiny grafts that contain one or just a few hairs to be implanted into the treated area.
  • FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a more novel procedure, in which individual hair follicles are harvested from the back of the patient’s scalp. These individual hairs are then expertly planted into the target areas.

At Body by Craft, we prefer to work with a Follicular Unit Extraction technique, which is less invasive, leaves virtually no noticeable scarring, and results in a more natural look.

When you come in for the procedure, expect the sides and the back of your head to be shaved and numbed. Then, you will lay face down while Dr. Craft uses the state-of-the-art Smartgraft machine to gather individual hair follicles from the donor sites. This step of the process can be very labor-intensive and time-consuming: depending on the volume of the graft, it can take up to 4 hours!

Once the required number of follicles is collected, they will be grafted individually onto the balding areas, – expect this process to take another several hours. All in all, it isn’t uncommon for a patient undergoing the procedure to spend 8 to 10 hours in our clinic.

Recovery Process

Right after the hair transplant procedure, your scalp may feel very tender. A soft dressing will need to stay on for a few days in order to protect the extraction sites at the back and sides of your head.

To minimize the discomfort, you may take pain medications; Dr. Craft may also prescribe an anti-inflammatory or antibiotic drug for you to take for a few days after the surgery. The good news is that most patients feel comfortable and are able to return to work within one week after the operation.

Keep in mind, however, that while the recovery is quick, it may take several months to see permanent hair growth results.

FAQ

How long does a Miami hair transplant procedure take?

The duration of the entire procedure can vary greatly depending on the total volume of grafts that need to be harvested and inserted. In most cases, you should plan to spend 8 to 10 hours in our clinic on the day of the surgery.

Are hair transplant results permanent?

Yes, hair transplants performed by Dr. Craft lead to permanent results. Once the hair grafts are inserted into the balding areas, they start to receive nourishment through blood vessels, which allows the newly-transplanted hair to grow for life.

What are the risks associated with hair restoration in Miami?

After the procedure, swelling in the donor site on the scalp isn’t uncommon, but it should subside within a few days. Other potential risks include hair follicle inflammation and infection. To minimize these risks, a plastic surgeon will often prescribe anti-inflammatory and antibiotic drugs to be taken for several days after the treatment.
